Recording for the EVP
When recording for the EVP, Lance records from the comfort of his own home.
He, records from his living room when the house is quiet and everybody is still in bed, this rules out external voices.
Lance believes, that a controlled enviroment is a must.
Recording in silence while ruling out external noise by speaking out loud EG: "Dog Bark outside" ect, so he knows what the sound was when listening back to the audio anaylise, not to interpert as the EVP... This he believes is the only way to be sure that if a suspected EVP occurs on the recording, everything else has been ruled out, so what is left is potientialy Paranormal.
Lance users a Sony B500 and a Sony B17, both digital recorder have a good base of background white noise from the internal circuitry, this aids the paranormal voices to embed (So to speak) onto the audio recording equipment.
While conducting the EVP session, he records generally for 15 min in total, and reaches out to a person, loved one ect for this amount of time, leaving a 1min space of silence given time for the other side to speak.
Lance stresses that a controlled enviroment is a must for these paranormal voices to be reconized, he is not saying that the EVP does not occur outside a controlled enviroment, they do, but his protocol for conducting the EVP session is as stated above.
Also, then use of two digital recorders helps, as the EVP only records on one recorder, while there is nothing on the other, this is the general rule of thumb.
